"Productivity is, above all, an attitude of mind.
It seeks to continually improve what already exists. It is based on the belief
that one can do things better today than yesterday and better tomorrow than
today."
With the University's commitment to continually improve its Quality Management
System, to provide quality service to all stakeholders, the Pamantasan ng
Lungsod ng Muntinlupa recently conducted the Quality Management Training
Series, Track 1: Office 5S, for its Administrative and Academic Personnel, last
Monday, 27 February 2023, from 1:00 PM onwards at the PLMun Emerald Hall.
The Vice President for Administration and Finance, Engr. Cynthia T. Meneses
delivered the opening remarks by stressing the essence of Good Housekeeping in
the Workplace through the implementation of Office 5S. Office 5S is a workplace
organization method derived from the Japanese words, Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set
in order), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardize), and Shitsuke (Sustain). She
mentioned that aside from the upcoming Accreditation, PLMun must implement
Office 5S as a requirement of the ISO standard to achieve an organized work
environment.
The University is beyond honored to have its President, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega,
CESE, as the Resource Speaker. In his talk Nurturing Excellence and Sustaining
Transformation, Dr. Arcega discussed the difference between Productivity and
Quality, and how it will benefit the University in achieving a quality
management system. He added that Efficiency and Effectiveness go hand-in-hand
in this process.
Dr. Arcega also reminded the PLMun community to participate in the regular
Clean-up Day, every Friday, to transform offices into productive working areas.
In closing, the Asst. Vice President for Finance, Ms. Melissa A. Untalan shared
her gratitude and appreciation to all who attended and supported the event.
