2nd Magisterial Lecture 2022 | Plenary Session

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa is currently conducting the a week-long University Annual Conference, with the theme, Future-Proofing PLMun Education and Learning, through a series of events and activities that aim to prepare both the Administrative and Academic personnel for the start of the First Semester of AY 2022-2023.

On the 2nd day of the week-long events, PLMun through the facilitation of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, conducted the 2nd Magisterial Lecture for 2022. The first part of the program was the Plenary Session, where the Management Committee, College Deans, Department Heads, and faculty members gathered for the preliminary talk preceding the breakout sessions of the faculty members.

Assoc. Prof. Ramonito A. Mesina, the Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered the Welcome Message, while Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE gave his Inspirational Message to the participants. Dr. Arcega stressed that the 2nd series of the Magisterial Lecture was the proof of PLMun's commitment to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the University. He also noted that same mechanics and criteria will be followed for this series, meaning there will also be a declared winner as Best Magisterial Lecturer after the presentations. 

Executive Director John Aquilino Edmund A. De Lima then presented the Program Overview of the Magisterial Lecture. He emphasized that PLMun as a Local University, with its vision to become a dynamic and highly competitive HEI will utilize this event to provide comprehensive and quality teaching strategies. He added that the Magisterial Lecture is a training and collaborative mechanism for PLMUN faculty to showcase their expertise and promote intellectual discourse outside the classroom.

Dr. Edsel R. Umali, the Vice President for Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, Linkages, & International Affairs; Director for Linkages & International Affairs, and a faculty member from the College of Teacher Education (CTE) was the Plenary Speaker who discussed a topic on A Call for a Future-Proof Pandemic Educator. 

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Dr. Umali by the University President, and the Vice Presidents. Right after this, the faculty members proceeded to the 3rd floor of RLRC for the breakout sessions featuring each faculty member's 15-minute presentation.
