Dr. Danilo B. Solayao is a licensed professional teacher who holds a
doctorate in educational management, three master's degrees: English Language
Teaching (ELT), business administration (MBA), public administration (MPA), two
bachelor's degrees: Secondary Education major in English from the Philippine
Normal University, Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Philippine International
College, and currently finishing his Bachelor of Laws.
Dr. Solayao started his teaching career as a high
school English teacher and eventually rose from the ranks as a classroom
instructor to University Research Director, College Dean, Graduate School Dean,
Vice President for Academic Affairs, and President of an international college
in Antipolo City, from 1992 to 2015.
In recent years, Dr. Solayao has served as
Director of the University Research and Extension Office, Head of the
University Curriculum and Instruction Office, and Dean of Graduate School, all
in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. He is the Vice President for Student
Life and Development and concurrent Dean of the College of Teacher Education of
the same University.
Professionally, Dr. Solayao is an affiliate of
various organizations, i.e., former Vice Chairman of the Board of the
Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE)–NCR, former Vice
President for Luzon of the Philippine Council of Deans (PCDEB), currently
Chairman of the Consortium of Teacher Education Institutions of the South
(CoTEIS). Likewise, he is a national Validator for Capacity Development for the
Award for Catalysts of Excellence under the DILG-Local Government Academy
(LGA), Assessor for RQAT of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Senior
Accreditor of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities–Commission on
Accreditation (ALCU-COA), and recently, appointed by the Professional
Regulation Commission (PRC) as a Monitor for Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) of Professional Teachers in NCR.
Dr. Solayao has received numerous awards and
recognition from various academic and professional organizations, including his
citations as Most Outstanding Employee of the City Government of Muntinlupa
(2019) and the prestigious "Gawad Sulo" for Eminent Alumni from his
alma mater, the Philippine Normal University for his advocacy in
Teacher-Education (2020), Distinguished Contribution in the Field of Education
conferred by International Education Award (2021), and the recent "Gintong
Parangal" as Philippines' Outstanding Achievements in Education and
Empowered Mentor for Students' Life Award (2022), among others.
His advocacy in education extends to his being an
Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Practitioner, a Rotarian, and, more than anything, a
Transformational Leader serving as Associate Pastor of a Christian Church in
San Pedro City, Laguna.
