University President, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE, was one of the highly
esteemed Resource Speakers in the recently concluded 5th Government
Academe Industry Network (GAIN) National Convention, last 11 November 2022, via
Zoom Video Conferencing.
This
year’s annual GAIN convention focused on topics about people development and
education as the backbone of economic sustainability and growth, the
globalization of work and talent shortage in the post-pandemic world,
overcoming learning poverty and deprivation, current and future possibilities
in digital transformation, and addressing the government-academe-industry gap.
No
less than the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, and Secretary
of the Department of Education, Hon. Sara Duterte delivered the Keynote Address
on Global Competitiveness Strategies for the Government, Academe, and Industry
in the Post-Pandemic World and the New Administration. Global competitiveness has become a central topic for both
developed and developing nations. In the Philippines, the Filipino society is
faced with an increasingly open world economy where neighboring countries
compete for human capital as an investment essential for economic growth.
Dr.
Arcega, who was also the Vice President of GAIN, discussed “New Beginnings: People
Development for Global Competitivenessâ€. He also delivered the Closing Remarks
for the said occasion.
The
Management Committee, together with College Deans, and Administrative and
Academic Heads/Directors also participated in the said Conference. Certificates
of Participation were then awarded to PLMun attendees by the University President.
