PLMun Flag-raising Ceremony

June 13, 2022    PLMun Comm
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) conducted the regular flag-raising ceremony at the PLMun quadrangle, hosted by the College of Information Technology and Computer Studies (CITCS).
The CITCS Dean, Assoc. Prof. Alain J. Anuevo, announced the conduct of the faculty evaluation by students which is accessible online via the student portal. The students were reminded to evaluate their instructors and professors objectively and to read the guidelines first before rating.
Dean Anuevo also announced the onsite training on the new way of encoding grades online, to be facilitated by the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Office. It aims to provide more comprehensive training and answer the faculty members' queries and concerns during the system's online orientation. The onsite training on the encoding of grades will be followed by a short training regarding faculty evaluation by College Deans and Department Heads.
In the next months come, the ICT Office will also continually implement a full online academic information system in the University.
In his inspirational message, Dean Anuevo discussed digital transformation which is essential in different institutions. He emphasized the need to accelerate and reinvent the work environment, as promoted by the University President. However, he noted that the employees’ fear of change and getting out of their comfort zones serve as a huge obstacle/barrier to this innovation.
He quoted, “the biggest aspect of digital transformation is transforming the way we think.” So to successfully adapt to digital transformation, the individuals must also sync their lifestyle and mindset.
For the longest time, PLMun aims to achieve digital transformation and academic excellence. Indeed, a successful transformation also involves a significant shift in culture, business practices, strategy, and even how work is performed.
Lastly, Dean Anuevo quoted Jeanne W. Ross of MIT Sloan’s Center for Information Systems Research who said, “Clearly, the thing that’s transforming is not the technology — it's the technology that is transforming us.”
The Vice President for Students' Life and Development affirmed the conduct of the faculty evaluation by the students. He also reminded everyone that the Final Examinations of graduating students will happen this week.
