PLMun Women’s Conference 2022

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) through the Gender and Development Office, conducted the Women’s Conference 2022, last 23 March 2022, at the Museo ng Muntinlupa.

The Management Committee, College Deans, Department Heads, and Directors physically attended the event while other faculty members and students joined via Zoom Video Conferencing.

PLMun is delighted to have Ms. Ivy Marquez as the Resource Speaker of this event. Ms. Marquez is a Speaker on Marriage, Family, and Personal Development. She is also the personal coach and trainer of popular celebrities, such as OgieAlcasid, Regine Velasquez, Jaya, and Ben & Ben.

With the theme, “We make change work for Women, Agenda ng KababaihanTungosaKaunlaran”, Ms. Marquez shared a message on promoting and improving the self-image and self-esteem, especially of women. According to Ms. Marquez, the majority of people nowadays are unsure of their purpose. It is essential to remind people, especially the students, of their purpose and significance.

She also shared the following points to stress out the message:

1.  We are not ordinary
2.  We were created in the image of God
3.  God entrusted all creation to human
4.  God commanded the people to go forth and multiply

Ms. Marquez further stated that who we are determine what we do. When all individuals know that they are somebody, they can do and will do great things for God.

On the second part of the conference, the Vice President for Students’ Life and Development, Dr. Danilo B. Solayao, facilitated a debate on current issues in the country involving gender. The proposition and opposition team, composed of selected PLMun officials and employees, discussed the following pressing issues:

Through these discussions, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE, affirmed that it’s worth investing in the Gender and Development programs for it has been reflected in the knowledge and awareness of employees, as well as in the students.
