Defeating Worry
(Matthew 6)
Engr. Cynthia T. Meneses, University Planning Officer and Head of the Planning Quality Assurance & Communications Office, shared the secrets on how to defeat worry as revealed in the Chapter 6 of the Book of Matthew.
What are we usually worried about?
1. Personal Needs
2. Personal Appearance
3. Future
TODAY is the TOMORROW you were worried about YESTERDAY.
We must learn to live one day at a time, and realize that worries are not permanent.
How do we defeat worry?
1. PRAYER defeats worry
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.†Philippians 4:6-7
2. PROPER PRIORITIES defeat worry
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.†Matthew 6:33
The key take-away is that We can face tomorrow for God is already there. Our worries end when FAITH BEGINS.
