Supervisory Development Training
The Management Committee, College Deans, Academic, and Administrative Department Heads, and Directors recently attended a 3-day leadership forum series facilitated by HRDMO, entitled, Supervisory Development Training, from 14 to 16 October 2022, at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City.
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa requires its personnel to undergo training and seminars on a regular basis every academic year to fulfill its mandate of truly providing quality and transformative higher education to its students. Through the leadership forum series, the University aimed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous kind of training for its participants, specifically the members of the University officials.
Some of the major activities during the development training were the benchmarking sessions conducted at the University of Baguio, Benguet State University, and the University of the Cordilleras. The officials had a glimpse of University facilities, best practices in instruction, research, and extension, as well as the opportunities for partnerships and linkages.
The event highlights include the talk of the Management Committee Officials composed of the University President, Vice Presidents, and Asst. Vice Presidents who served as Resource Speakers. Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE, opened the leadership session by sharing Leadership Strategic Change with the officials. He noted the following strategies to lead effectively and efficiently: 1. Manage people, 2. Manage resources, 3. Manage results. He also emphasized the importance of the 3Cs of an effective leader: Choice, Conviction, and Consequences.
The other ManCom officials also shared their knowledge and expertise with the participants through their talk on the following topics: VP Ramonito Mesina, “Understanding Management Functions: Challenges and Opportunitiesâ€, VP Danilo B. Solayao, “Motivating Employees towards Peak Performanceâ€, AVP Melissa Untalan, “Understanding Finance towards Organizational Productivityâ€, AVP Antonio Flores Jr, “Managing Organizational Communication and Conflictâ€, VP Cynthia T.
