Vision
Provides an energizing vision for the academic programs of PLMun
Exerts prominent campus leadership and promotes collaborations and exchanges regionally to internationaly.
Mission
Administer the academic policies and procedures of the University, congruent with the faculty responsibilities for governance contained in the policy handbook.
Communicate objectives and policies to academic affairs personnel in a manner that promotes the formualtion, implementation and evaluation of the academic affairs program.
Objectives
- Articulates and advances creative teaching and learning opportunities that promote intellectual vitality and rigor.
- Ensures that curriculum and instruction within the Univeristy are developed, implemented and supervised appropriately.
- Advocates a thoughtful, appropriate infusion of technologies into the teaching and learning process and the administration of the academic affairs division.
Duties / Responsibilities
The following describes generally the purposes and responsibilities of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) reports directly to the President of the University and is responsible for the administration of academic affairs. The VPAA presides over meetings of the Council of Deans. The VPAA shall preside over meetings of the University Faculty as directed by the President.
- The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) shall receive recommendations from the deans, directors and department chairs concerning academic appointments, non-reappointments, promotions, merit, dismissal and tenure. The VPAA shall make recommendations the same to the President.
- The VPAA shall administer and coordinate the education curricula with academic personnel.
- The VPAA will prepare and submit to the President the budget for academic affairs.
- The VPAA will serve as the coordinating officer among academic affiars personnel as required for discussion of problems.
- The VPAA will prepare report concerning the academic problmes and progress of the University for submission to the President and such reports as are necessary from the varoious Deans, Department Chair and Directors.
- The VPAA will provide administrative supervision to the Schools and Colleges, the Library, Directorship of the Academic Services.
- The VPAA will be responsible for the continuous study of the curricula; the revision and development of new courses of study; the encouragement of research; the development of class schedules; the maintenance of adequate library services; and the hiring of instructional personnel.
Standard Operating Procedures
The VPAA Staff is committed to observe strictly proper office decorum hence, the following standard procedures are strictly operative.
- The receiving of the official inter-office communication must be registered in the logbook by the clerk to be turned over to the office secretary for submission to the VPAA for appropriate action.
- School personnel, Students, guest and others with official business only shall be attended to by the VPAA with the corresponding number provided by the clerk on priority basis.
- Documents, papers request letters for VPAA's signatures shall be reviewed by the office secretary to avoid faulty actions and confusions.
- All matters with recommending approval of the VPAA to the University President will be duly noted before forwarding them to the latter's office for her final approval.
- The internal office of the VPAA will reserve its rights to remain closed during the deliberations of matters of strict confidentiality. Such situation is very seldom.
- All the members of the VPAA staff are required to log in and out in the observance of their office hours. A separate office form of attendance is used for this purpose where they affix their signatures to be approved by the VPAA.
- Silence is strictly obeserved and the use of cell phones is prohibited during office hours.
- All documents to be released by the VPAA though it gives premium to transparency.
- The VPAA staff must be in decent appearance always epecially in performing their office duties and reponsibilities.
- Staff members of the VPAA only shall have the sole permission to use the computer machine, encoding and printing of official papers, documents, reports to avoid wastage and damages. Computer machine is for official use only.
The VPAA Office is duty bound to enforce the foregoing Standard Operating Procedures on an ethical, moral and professional manner.

Action Plan
The VPAA intends to accomplish the hereunder objectives for PLMun with the support of the Deans, Faculty members and staff.
- Prepare more well- designed programs for short programs that shall help the poor and deserving students to acquire competencies that could make them entrepreneurial graduates and globally competetive in meeting the demands of the industry.
- Acquire more professors / instructors who are highly qualified, competent and commited to serve PLMun.
- Update regulary the course syllabi of teachers used in teaching their subjects.
- Enhance the different courses curricula of all existing departments like CAS, CBA,CCS,CCJ and CTE
- Establish linkages with local and private government agencies for the continuous upgrading of programs and professional growth of faculty members and students.
- Organize training, seminars or, Panel Discussion for faculty and students development.
- Initiate preparations for accreditation process.
- Involve faculty members to undergo action research work.
- Impose the English Speaking policy with in the campus to develop the students and faculty communication skills.
- Impose the practice of regular Monday flag raising ceremony of academic affairs.
- Strengthen the co-curricular activities to fully develop our students.
- Establish a culture of friendly, competitive and quality members of the academic community who are service oriented and God-fearing people.
