The establishment of a college/university started with a dream and determination of the leadership of the then Municipality and now City of Muntinlupa. In spite of the tremendous financial odds, the leaders prevailed to find strength, inspired by the Divine Providence, in the pursuit of embarking into a difficult task of establishing an institution of higher learning. On May 29, 1991, the Municipal Council of Muntinlupa passed the Resolution No. 91-191 and Resolution No. 91-192 officially creating a government-run college, which gave rise to the MPC (Muntinlupa Polytechnic College).
